Club Racing in South East Queensland
South-east Queensland is blessed with some great club racing action. Check out these clubs and we’ll see you at the track (actually, we’ll race you there). Also below the club listing I have a few notes on what classes are commonly raced around the SEQ clubs.

Chargers R/C Car Club: www.chargersrc.com
This long standing club has an offroad track at Redbank which hosted the 2005 ORRCA/AARCMCC Offroad Nationals – a fantastic event. The club has historically run on-road racing and we’ll let you know if and when their on-road activity kicks off again. The Chargers track will move to Cobalt Street Wacol for commencement in the 2017 calander year.

Gold Coast Indoor Offroad. Gold Coast Running EP10 classes. Tuesday night from 6 Truck classes and Wednesday night from 6 buggies. Every second Saturday night all classes. Now Closed
Bayside R/C Car Club: www.wynnumrc.com
Onroad racing on a purpose built 1/10th scale concrete track covered with tarmac. Rubber tyres in Ep and foams in GP. Normal classes raced will be 1/10th Touring Cars -21.5 blinky, 13.5 blinky, modified, Gas Tourer and Open Nitro. Racing every second Saturday from 4pm. Check the club website for race dates).

At Meakin Park Slacks Creek in Brisbane.Onroad Racing is currently every second Saturday night (Nominations 4.30 pm) – 21.5 Blinky, 13.5 Blinky and Mod, also F1 using the National F1 ruleset. Also a informal practice night for F1 and TC on the Wednesday night prior to race nights.

Offroad racing is also up and running on opposite weekends. Check the club website for details. Currently undergoing a fantastic rebuild and will emerge as a great track. Very popular with a very strong “club” atmosphere.

There is also a group of vintage offroad enthusiasts who meet at Boondall (off the ring road at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre). They meet every second saturday morning – check details on the rctech/australianracing/boondall vintage thread.
 
ELECTRIC ONROAD Touring Cars

21.5 Blinky. (Officially TC3) This is basically a beginners class but is also often frequented by drivers who just want good cheap fun. This is a brushless motor class and uses any 21.5 ROAR/BRCA Approved motor with any ESC from the ROAR Sportsman list or the AARCMCC zero timing speedy list. LIPO batteries must be hard cased ROAR approved packs
13.5 Blinky.(Officially TC2) This is a brushless class. Any 13.5 ROAR/BRCA approved brushless motor may be used with any ESC from the ROAR Sportsman list or the AARCMCC zero list . LIPO batteries must be hard cased ROAR approved packss.
MODIFIED (Officially TC1)There is usually a mod class racing at club level at most of the clubs at the moment .
F1. As per the National rules – see link above. 21.5 blinky and rubber tyres.
NITRO. Two classes of nitro are run basically as per the Interclub rules elsewhere on this site . At the moment it’s Brendale and Bayside where most of the nitro action is –
Mini – currently no Mini racing in Brisbane
